Christian Classic Christmas Song

Christmas music tends to fall into two popular categories. The Santa Claus category or the Christian / Jesus category. Christian Christmas music is by far my favorite. Sing about the birth of Christ and you've got me hooked.

One of my new favorite Christmas songs is, "Mary, Did Know?"  written by Mark Lowry in 1984, with music written by Buddy Greene in 1991. "Mary, Did You Know?" is still fairly new compared to many of our Christian Christmas traditional songs. It has quickly become a favorite for many during the holiday season and has been recorded by hundreds of artists over the years -- making it a modern Christmas Classic today. 

I love the lyrics of this song because it allows us to remember Mary, the Mother of Jesus. Although she obviously knew that she was the mother of our Lord and Savior, I can imagine she probably had no idea how remarkable and amazing her son would become when he walked on water, healed the sick and raised the dead. The lyrics in this song cause us to pause and imagine Mary's world for a moment in time. 

With beautiful lyrics, beautiful music there must be a beautiful video to go with it, right?  Yes, there is in fact. I found a few but settled on sharing the video that includes CeeLo Green's version with snippets from the popular TV series "The Bible."
